NYS DEC Environmental Education Camps
Each year, the RCCA and its Member Clubs join together to sponsor seven (7) youth to attend the NYS DEC Camp Colby located on Lake Colby in the Adirondacks. This is a week-long residency camp where children have the opportunity to experience archery, canoeing, fishing, birding, hiking, outdoor skills, swimming, taking a hunter education program, and going on local field trips. If you are part of one of the RCCA's Member Clubs and have a child between the age of 11-17 that would like to be sponsored, please reach out to your Member Club or an RCCA Director. RCCA Youth Scholarship Awards
Apply for a Scholarship!
The amount to be awarded is $500 to a deserving Rensselaer County high school graduate who has demonstrated a desire to study a conservation, recreation, forestry, environmental, commercial fishing, or earth studies field. Further education in one of those fields and past community participation documentation to be shared in the application. RCCA Scholarship applications are accepted between March 1st - April 1st of each year.
